We accepted the challenge to see how light we could make a Model 98 Titanium Hammer. What we have produced is an obscenely light and fast hammer. The hammer is so light and cycles so fast that guns with the response trigger or the E-grip can't react fast enough to latch the sear. For that reason, we designed our standard Model 98 hammer (item #1000) to have additional weight.
The Model 98 Lite Hammer is so light, it is not recommended for guns with the response trigger or E-grip installed.
There was some concern about wear on the gun or extra fast wear on the hammer. We cycled one for 50,000 cycles and then shot five cases of paint during regular play. With over 60,000 cycles, we finally just stopped tracking the exact cycles and this gun/hammer combination is still regularly played with on game days! Update December 2005: the cycle count is now at approximately 250,000 and still counting.
